Secondary School Overview

The secondary school program in Cambodia follows a 6+3+3 structure, with three years of lower secondary and three years of upper secondary education. This stage is critical for building advanced knowledge and skills while preparing students for higher education, vocational training, or the workforce. By integrating vocational skills with traditional academic subjects, the curriculum equips students for diverse career paths, fosters entrepreneurship, and supports national economic growth.

Core Subjects:

Khmer Language: Advanced reading, writing, grammar, and literature in the national language.

‍Mathematics: Topics including arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.

‍Science: Physics, chemistry, and biology to build foundational and applied scientific knowledge.

‍Social Studies: Cambodian and world history, geography, civics, and cultural studies.

‍Foreign Languages: English, emphasizing reading, writing, and conversational proficiency.

‍Physical Education: Sports, fitness, and health education to promote well-being.

‍Civic Education: Ethics, values, and principles to foster social harmony and responsible citizenship.

‍Philosophy & Morality: Introduction to philosophical thought and ethical decision-making.
